These dark days
Are a hindrance to my soul
As each day passes
I feel I’m growing old
The leaves on the trees
Wither with grace
I’m starting to notice
The lines on my face
My will is still strong
And the wind starts to blow
All the things I’ve learned
And I still do not know
The answer to this life
I feel I’m in a quandary
But there’s no need for strife
Soon enough I’ll meet the boundary
Of heaven or hell
And this is a short summary
Of something I need to tell
So listen, my dear friends
Of this I have to say
Open the door to life
And greet each and every day
With warmth in your soul and in your heart
It’s not a hard task
This is all we need to do
We shouldn’t even ask…
